There will ALWAYS be something I don&#8217;t know, so why not try to learn EVERYTHING I can? It&#8217;s sort of a sickness I have, I want to try everything.<\/p>\n<p>So while competing in the Extreme Cowboy Race was something totally new and different for me, I couldn&#8217;t leave it at just that. While at the expo I jumped at the chance to learn how to throw a lariat. After all, I could have been asked to rope a &#8220;cow&#8221; during the competition for all I knew.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1729\" title=\"kyley lasso\" src=\"http:\/\/trickponies.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/03\/img_0295-e1299247966539.jpg?w=373&#038;resize=373%2C500\" alt=\"\" width=\"373\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I was sort of relieved we didn&#8217;t have to rope something, because I think I could use a little more practice.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1730\" title=\"kyley lasso\" src=\"http:\/\/trickponies.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/03\/img_0296-e1299248006733.jpg?w=373&#038;resize=373%2C500\" alt=\"\" width=\"373\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve added a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nrsworld.com\/istar.asp?a=6&amp;id=NRS-RR001!NRS\" target=\"_blank\">Lariat<\/a> to my Birthday wish list (which is tomorrow!) because it was so much fun I can&#8217;t wait to give it a try while riding a horse!<\/p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/P12CJ4Zu7LM?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<p>After trying my hand at tossing the lariat I made sure Boomerang was ready for roping too. During one of our schooling sessions in the indoor I practiced throwing a lead rope around his head, ears, and sides. Just to make sure that should I NEED to throw the rope in the race, he would be fully comfortable with it. You can never be too prepared!<\/p>\n<p>Anyone else out there know how to throw a rope?
