My plan worked! Because I completed all but one of my ten goals last year, I think I can pat myself on the back for that one!<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a little recap of last year&#8217;s goals:<\/p>\n<p>1. Teach Minnow to rear <span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">CHECK<\/span><\/p>\n<p>2. Teach Blitz and Boomer to lay down on command <span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">CHECK for Boomer<\/span><\/p>\n<p>3. Finish teaching Ammo and Boomer to paint <span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">CHECK (Ammo learned to make scratch art)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>4. Come up with a new skit for Minnow to perform <span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">CHECK a performance of dueling super hero&#8217;s with Ammo<\/span><\/p>\n<p>5. Make a new video of all of the trick ponies (and the Dachshund) performing <span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">CHECK thanks to my talented brother<\/span><\/p>\n<p>6. Move Boomer up to compete in the Masters Division in Mounted Games <span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">CHECK we competed this past year in masters<\/span><\/p>\n<p>7. Take Blitz to a bombproofing clinic\/and or some Dressage events<\/p>\n<p>8. Teach Ammo and Minnow some tricks together <span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">CHECK seen in their super hero performance<\/span><\/p>\n<p>9. Find more venues\/performances for Minnow to do \u2013 events that raise money for charities would be great. <span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">CHECK we attended the Equine Extravaganza, MGAA Nationals, and did several new camp performances.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>10. Spend more time doing \u201cnothing\u201d with the boys <span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">CHECK<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-1551\" title=\"2010 equine extravaganza\" src=\"http:\/\/trickponies.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/11\/dsc06114.jpg?w=150&#038;resize=150%2C112\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"112\" \/>The only thing I didn&#8217;t get to do was take Blitz on an outing. Blitz is owned by my mom now, so she spent a lot of last year training him &#8211; hopefully this year I will find some time to take him somewhere.<\/p>\n<p>So in keeping with my tradition, I thought I should come up with some new goals for this year. I&#8217;m so excited to get started and I have BIG plans for the boys this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1550 alignleft\" title=\"2010 equine extravaganza\" src=\"http:\/\/trickponies.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/11\/dsc06183.jpg?w=400&#038;resize=280%2C210\" alt=\"\" width=\"280\" height=\"210\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2011 TRICK PONY GOALS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Take some western riding lessons with Boomerang<\/p>\n<p>2. Push myself past my comfort zone and compete in something I&#8217;ve never done before<\/p>\n<p>3. Teach Minnow to sit or lay down<\/p>\n<p>4. Fine tune Boomerang&#8217;s cues for bow and lay down<\/p>\n<p>5. Train some more tricks using the pedestal<\/p>\n<p>6. Teach Minnow a brand-new trick skit for Pony Penning 2011<\/p>\n<p>7. Teach Ammo the Dachshund a skit he can perform alone<\/p>\n<p>8. Take Blitz on an outing (Dressage, Paperchase, Mounted Games, Tricks, etc)<\/p>\n<p>9. Paint with the boys more often<\/p>\n<p>10. Read a training book (or video) and teach one skill from it<\/p>\n<p>11. Teach Boomerang flying lead changes, rollbacks, and a better sidepass<\/p>\n<p>12. Read Misty of Chincoteague&#8230;again! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Sounds doable right? What are your goals for 2011?
