Announcing the Super Pony! DVD Release
The day has finally come! It’s time to announce the official release of the brand-new Super Pony DVD, staring the talented Minnow from Painting Pony and his sidekick, Ammo the Dachshund!

Thanks to my talented brother and Depthink Productions, we began filming for the DVD this past summer, and I’m so excited that it’s finally ready to share with everyone! I think everyone will really enjoy getting to learn more about all the ponies and watch several of Minnow & Ammo’s favorite “super” performances.
Check out the DVD Trailer:
ON THIS DVD
Trainer, Kyley DiLuigi, introduces us to Super Pony, the alter ego of the talented Chincoteague Pony, Minnow! Watch as he shows us some of his favorite trick performances, many of which have been performed at expos, fairs, schools, and even the Annual Chincoteague Pony Penning. Several performances also include Minnow’s lovable sidekick, Ammo the Dachshund, as well as other members of the Painting Pony crew. In addition to 5 featured videos, this DVD also contains 2 bonus videos: a visit to Iron Horse Farm, home to the Painting Ponies; and a talk given by Kyley about everyone’s favorite Chincoteague Pony, Misty of Chincoteague.

PAINTING PONY
In 2007, Painting Pony was founded when Kyley DiLuigi decided to bring her paints from art school out to the farm where she kept her 14-year-old pony, Minnow. That cold winter day Minnow became the World’s First Painting Chincoteague Pony as he created his very first masterpiece. As it became evident that Minnow had a gift that he truly loved, the paintings he created began to pile higher and higher. Feeling the need to share Minnow’s art with the world, Kyley started PaintingPony.com and the rest is history!

The Super Pony DVD is approx. 20 minutes and is available for purchase at $12 in our shop.

Paintings of the Painting Ponies
If you follow along on Ammo the Dachshund’s blog, then you may have heard that I had ordered a custom painting of him from Yellow Brick Home.
After receiving Ammo’s painting in the mail I just knew I had to commission some paintings of the rest of my boys. I was so excited when they were waiting for me at home when I got back from Chincoteague!

Aren’t they so cute? I just love them!
You can get your own custom pet portraits from Yellow Brick Home (we were not paid or perked to write this post – just wanted to share our happy little paintings).
New April Paintings in the Shop!
Well it’s taken me way too long to get the paintings Minnow created on April 1st at the Point to Point Races up in the shop. Several of them have sold already, but we do have a few left that are available for purchase.
We tried something new this time with a few of Minnow’s paintings. Instead of having him paint on canvas, he painted on bristol board. We then matted them to fit standard size frames and made them available for a budget friendly price of $45!
Below are three of the paintings we still have available in the shop – click on each image to see them in the Shop!
Minnow also painted a new canvas which we titled “April Fool” on account of him painting it on April Fools Day at the Point to Point races.
Purchase it in the shop HERE.
I think all of his new paintings have the perfect touch of Spring in them. Don’t you?
Giving Back

Each year the ponies and Ammo the Dachshund make contributions to some of their favorite Charitable Organizations. It makes us feel good to be able to support groups that care for other animals in need. Minnow himself was a past victim of neglect and I think it’s a very special thing that with the money he earns through his amazing paintings we are able to help other animals in need.

This year we selected three special organizations to donate to. The newly formed organization, The Chincoteague Pony Rescue, is very near and dear to our hearts – who’s mission is to provide quality care and treatment of the Chincoteague ponies through intervention, education, proper placement into forever homes and to prevent over breeding. We are proud to be able to support their efforts in protecting and saving this very special breed.

We also chose to support our local L.A.P.S. (Large Animal Protection Society) group who’s mission is to stop cruelty to large animals in the community.

And lastly we decided to support the Main Line Animal Rescue, which has helped thousands of animals find new homes while launching one of the most successful anti-puppy mill campaigns in the history of animal welfare. MLAR celebrates the special bond between companion animals and the people who love them – through rescue, adoption, education and community outreach.

It’s important to do our part to support the groups who dedicate so much time to helping animals in need. With our support perhaps they will be able to rescue one more animal or save one more starving pet. For more information on how to make a donation to these groups, follow these links:
The Ponies Celebrate Christmas
Christmas time can get pretty hectic for me. My custom frame shop in town starts booming with Christmas orders right after Thanksgiving and most nights when I leave work in the dark I struggle to keep my eyes open as I move horses and hay bales out on the farm. The ponies start to see my comings and goings as a blur while I make promises to get back to riding and training them after the Holidays.
But, despite how busy this time of year can get I never forget my boys when Christmas rolls around.
This year I headed out to the farm first thing Christmas morning with Ammo the Dachshund and my husband in tow. Ammo brought along a special treat for all of his favorite ponies.

And he was sweet enough to taste test the first few bites.

Not only did Ammo bring the boys treats, but it looked like Santa had visited the farm too.

With Ammo supervising, Minnow set to work opening his special gift from Santa.

Boomerang had a bit more trouble grasping the concept of present opening, but luckily little Ammo is a pro at opening gifts and was more than happy to help.

All the horses received Himalayan Salt Blocks from Santa! But most importantly I think the ponies are thrilled that the Holiday rush is over, and we can get back to trick training! We’ve got lots of work to do to prepare for the Horse World Expo and it’s time to start thinking of new tricks!
Make sure you check out Ammo’s blog to see what Santa brought him.
