Breyer Model Clone

I had my suspicions before, but now I’m pretty certain that I have a “fan” at the Breyer Model Headquarters. Why you may ask? Because within the past few years several models have been popping up that bare an uncanny resemblance to Minnow & I.

First it was the Pony Games Set, Breyer’s very first mounted games rider and pony.

This model features a female rider with thick RED braids – tip off #1 that its me. When competing in mounted games I usually wear my hair (my RED hair) in 2 HUGE braids because trust me, you have never seen a red-head with as much hair as me. Not only that but the rider is on a pinto pony, that may not look exactly like Minnow’s clone, but there are some definite similarities.

Then a friend sent me over a link to the Art Class Set.

This model also includes a female artist with RED hair and a pinto pony. If that wasn’t enough, they come with paintbrushes and paint! Really!

Me and Three Future Breyer Models

Minnow says his sidekick Ammo the Dachshund has to be included too

Whatever Breyer’s reasoning behind these two models is, it’s certain that their “plan” has worked. Because I am now the proud owner of both of them! ha ha. 🙂

I’m really really hoping that my “fan” at the Breyer Headquarters is reading this, because Chincoteague Minnow would be more than HAPPY to model for your next “debut” mold of his likeness. Why not get the real thing? Complete with little Dachshund side-kick and all!

I bet it would sell out instantly! 🙂

What do you guys think? Should Minnow be a Breyer Model? Should Ammo be the first Dachshund mold? Does anyone else see the resemblances that I do?

Photography Fun

So I was “tagged” in this little photo exercise and here’s what I have to do:

1) Go to your photo files
2) Pick the sixth folder (open)
3) Pick the 6th photo
4) Write a story about the photo
6) Tag six people

So here’s my photo:

minnow of chincoteagueAnd here’s the story:

I took this photograph of the Breyer Model I painted to look like my pony, Chincoteague Minnow I know you can Hire a professional Headshot Photographer for your Linkedin account and get better photos but I am trying myself for a while. The model came completely white with no color on it what-so-ever, and it was intended to be a model of Misty of Chincoteague. I think I painted a fairly good representation of Minnow considering this was my first attempt at it. I later completed another model to look like my pony, Chesapeake Lightning and I’m in the works to complete one of Chesapeake Boomerang.

You can see my original posts on Minnow and Blitz’s models by clicking the links.

So there’s my story but as far as tagging 6 people I have only one person to tag (sadly I have no blogging friends except for the person who tagged me).

So my one tag goes to my husband Mike at MikeDiLuigi.com. And my guess is when I tell him he has to do this little “project” is that he definitely won’t do it – because he’s no fun…and I’m saying this because I know he will read this and I’m trying to entice him into doing it – likely this feeble attempt won’t work either. So I guess you’ll just have to keep checking his blog to see if he will do it. 🙂

Breyer Model of Blitz

blitz Today I finished painting a Breyer model of Chesapeake Lightning aka Blitz. I think it turned out really nice. The roan on him was difficult to achieve but overall it closely resembles him.

Blitz one of the most gorgeous Chincoteague Ponies I have ever seen. I love all of my ponies equally but something about that beautiful face of Blitz just melts me. And standing at 14.1 hands tall he is also one of the largest Chincoteagues I have seen. Usually the ponies range from 12 – 13.3 hands high. Not only is Blitz abnormally tall, but he is also very proportionately built. Most Chincoteagues are built more like my Minnow, horse sized head and body but really shrimpy legs (this characteristic is also SUPER cute but it can have its medical drawbacks – note Minnow’s diagnosis of ringbone last year). But no matter what their size and shape I love all Chincoteagues, something about them is just so amazing.

I am currently offering my services to paint a Breyer model of any of my trick ponies, or if you would rather I can paint a model of your horse. For more details click on one of the photos above.

Mini Me

Someday I hope to have my herd of Chincoteague Ponies to adorn their very own Breyer blankets – the blanket that only horses that have been immortalized as Breyer models can wear. But until that day comes I will just have to create my own!

I painted a Breyer mold of Misty of Chincoteague to look just like my famous, “Chincoteague Minnow”. In the near future I hope to complete my “box set” (to include Chesapeake Lightning aka Blitz and Chesapeake Boomerang aka Boomer as well).
